On and Off and On the Wagon

So needless to say in the past 8 months since my last post I have been off and on and off the wagon multiple times. I'm currently back on the wagon and about a week into tracking my foods. I can't say this week has been great but I'm getting better. I definitely went over the set calories I was trying to maintain and it was by eating junk food. I think I just got into the holiday rut of eating junk and it's hard to break. My clothes have been tight for the last few months but they are getting worse and I'm down to 2 pairs of pants that fit (although tight) and so I know I have to make a change.  It's hard and I know this is not typically the time of year that people start but I figured if I put it off till January I'm going to put it off till Feb, Mar, April, etc. So why not start today and just not give up. I'm not saying i can't have junk food but I have come to the conclusion that i need to track it and be honest about what is going into my body...

Starting a Routine

Today marks 6 days in a row that I have exercised. I feel pretty good about the fact that I have gotten in at least 20 minutes (if not 30 or 40) additional minutes of exercise each day for the last 6 days. I'm hoping to keep it up for the significant future as well. I'd still like to try to walk at work for 20 minutes a day but my goal is to workout like i have as well as to hit my 10k steps. So far so good. Since my birthday I think there have only been 2 or 3 times when I haven't hit 10,000 steps.  I do still need to get better about eating. I'm pretty good for the majority of the day but then seem to ruin it with snacks/junk/eating crappy for dinner. And typically it's those carb cravings or eating out. This weekend was a perfect example of that. While I kept under my calorie limit for the day I ate pizza and then a chicken bake from costco. Not the healthiest of meals.  But for lunch this week I have some really good salads planned. Even with a bit of dre...

Restarting the Journey

So it has been over two years since my last post which was one on the positive side. Shortly after that last post I found out that I was pregnant. I actually kept pretty active during my pregnancy and continued to work out at least a bit till I was about 20 weeks. After that it was more just normal activity and walking. The weight gain was normal but less than my first pregnancy (32 pounds total). Shortly after returning to work 3.5 months later there was a biggest loser challenge and I started walking daily with my coworker Kera. The weight continued to come off and things were going well. I wasn't working out at the gym as walking, pumping, and working was enough but it went ok. Fast forward to August where I started a new job and things kind of went backwards. At the job I had I was walking 1-2 miles a day with my coworker, pumping multiple times, breastfeeding and eating relatively well. New job - within 2 months I had stopped pumping, mostly stopped nursing, no more daily wa...
